My Review of the Lemon KTV KHP-8836 and Reviews of www.digitblue.com and www.szblue.com, an overseas purchase from China

The KHP-8836 Karaoke Machine

     So I've been researching Karaoke machines for a while now and I finally decided on the Lemon KTV KHP-8836.  It is an Android based HDD system that connects to your network via Wi-Fi or ethernet.  It has dual front panel 1/4" inputs with echo reverb.  Seperate knobs for each jack's volume and echo levels are also on the front panel.

     The coolest feature in my opinion is that you can use a supporting Android and iOS app on your phone or tablet to search through the song database, but the app lacks simple features like sorting at the time of my review.  You can also use multiple mobile apps at the same time.

     A drawback is the adding of new songs to the system.  You connect the unit to your computer via mini-usb.  You have to rename the new karaoke file to a number, upload it to the unit, and then catalog your entry into the supplied software in conjunction with the directory you put the new file in.  It's not complicated but if you have 100's to add, it's a pain in the ass.  A more automated system would've been a great feature, and not too hard with my programming background.  A simple script would've done the job.  I can't write one because the song list is encrypted...which sucks even worse than for this.

     One BIG difference between this system and most is the inability to play CD-G and MP3-G files.  The website claims "not yet"...we shall see if this gets updated to the firmware ever.  As of today, 2014.03.14 we shall see if this ever comes to realization.  Other features that are lacking is a midi engine meaning no .MID files either.

     Basically this system is a cataloged video player.  You enter the number of the video file and it gets added to a playlist.  I chose this system for the mobile abilities and the hdmi output.

     Now when I ordered the machine from www.digitblue.com, I knew I wasn't going to get a physical song book.  I ordered the unit, an extra remote, and the English hdd with >13,000 songs.  I browsed through the song list on the website and saw a lot of repeated songs, but still didn't seem bad.  The good about Raymond Xu's English HDD karaoke collection, is most songs allow for L or R selection of audio, which allows for vocal or just instrumental...but the quality of video is very poor on most songs, and the vocal on a lot of the songs sounds rike this.

     Now for my gripe...YOU CANNOT PRINT A SONGBOOK!!!   The song list file for the english hdd from digitblue.com is encrypted and the software won't allow you to print a songbook on an encrypted song list file.  The option is there though.  So I emailed he who calls himself Raymond Xu and asked if he could send me a songbook file.  After waiting a few days, he sends me a link to a corrupt rar file.  I email him again and again and again, telling him the file is corrupted.  No answer.  I finally get fed up and file a claim with PayPal.  Surprise.....I hear from Xu.  He fixes the file and sends me an email claiming the server had problems.  Furthermore he says he won't give me further support because I filed a PayPal claim, which he says is forbidden.  (I didn't know communism was still alive.)  Oh well, I got the book so now I might be happy.  NO!  The songbook is sorted by number.  I want the book sorted by artist.  So I email Xu again, and again, and again, and again.  And that's where we're at.  Still waiting.

     I don't expect to hear from my friend Raymond Xu.  Maybe Dennis Rodman can pay him a visit and talk some sense into that fool.  I will ultimately escalate the claim with PayPal and see what they decide.  Either way, he got his money, I got the karaoke machine although I still don't have the song book I need.  Perhaps I will sell the machine privately to someone.  Ebay has the same machine for almost $600.  Heaven forbid anyone would get a TRUE LEMON, they'd be shit out of luck dealing with digitblue.com or szblue.com or Raymond Xu based on my experience.

     My conclusion, don't deal with digitblue.com or szblue.com, or Raymond Xu.  He's Chinese (meaning he's in China, and he's Chinese, and probably not named Raymond) and customer service has yet to hit him.  The unit is 3 out of 5.  The english karaoke hdd from Raymond's websites are below average.  I found better karaoke files on YouTube.  Yeah, I think I'll just sell the machine.  Returning would be too expensive and I run the risk of losing the merchandise and NOT getting my money back.  Some people you just can't trust.

     If I had to do it again, I'd buy a different unit altogether.  A player from the States and with excellent customer service.

Why TCF Bank is out for your $$$ money

So I had....a TCF account.  It was the Totally Free Checking Account.  NO FEES.  Then in 2010, they decided that they weren't going to offer this anymore.  They claim to have sent me a letter informing me of the change.  I never recieved or read any letter.  Then started charging me fees on my $50 balance.  I didn't use this account, but knew I had money.  Needless to say, my account eventually went under 0, then surprise, $35 in overdraft fees.  I ended up owing $50 to close my account.

Now the problem I have is, I should have to sign to agree to any changes, especially ADDED fees, or have my account automatically closed and my balance refunded to me.  This is my gripe Mr. President.  My default answer should be NO, not YES.

NOTES: I was paperless, trying to be green.  TCF is headquartered in Minnesota.

Most Every Saturday, It's Just On TV

So I guess I tweet a lot.  Woke up from sleep, first thing I do is turn on the tv.  Still on travel channel from the night before watching the stupid show ghost adventures, which is entertaining though, laughing at zak and the gac.  Adam is always on.  Today the show is Amzaing Eats.  Sometimes it's Man V Food.  Man, I wanna eat the tv.  But back to point, next thing that enters my mind is, 'I'm gonna tweet that'.

Which brings me to Blogspot, a division of google and googlesense.  So i decided to expand my thought(s) today, instead of trying to summarize in (twitter) a certain amount of characters 130, 140?    Whatever it is, it's limiting.  There should be more allowed characters.  But now, twitter wants to start censoring.  So in response, people are not tweeting today, calling it #twitterblackout.  Funny thing, I read about the blackout on twitter's trending topics.  Almost ironic if it isn't.  Censorship is wrong.  Sure there are unsavory people out ther, but these are just words.  And it really is freedom of speech that brings what is right out.  Or better yet, a litmus of where we stand as a society.

So facebook advertises but doesn't reimburse the content creators.  Twitter is censoring now.  I don't know, maybe it's time to just...logoff for a really, long, mother fucking time.  I mean, damn, shit's gone cray.  In my opinion of course.

I'm hungry.  Fuck papa johns.

Total side note: @papajohns is tainted for life for me.  Anyday I see that ugly mother fucker on tv mostly, I see him (mama john) with lady chinky eyes.  Bitch ass mother fucker.  Yeah, that's gangsta talk (sarcasm).

Boycott on McDonalds South of 8 Mile

So after eating Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts, and Burger King breakfasts for 3 months 9 days, I decided to finally get McDonalds today.  I got 2 breakfast burritos with HOT picante sauce and a large sweet tea.  My last meal from McDonalds was Oct 17, 2011.

I had modified my boycott earlier this week, saying I will not patron any McDonalds 'south of 8 mile', meaning inside Detroit.  All the problems I've ever had have been in inner-Detroit McDonalds.  Slow service, wrong orders...but most importantly... SLOW ORDERS.  I'm sure if there were a nationwide service test, most all Detroit McDonalds would fail miserably.  Don't believe me, try it.  Matter of fact, I went to a White Castle once in Detroit, slowest ever.  And those employees had some fucking attitude on them too.  So maybe it's just the Detroit fast food worker that sucks.

So the last McDonalds meal I've eaten from a Detroit McDonalds is Oct 17, 2011.

These 3 months gave  me the opportunity to try other foods for breakfast.  No one fast food place should have too much market share.  Tim Hortons has to be the healthiest IMO.  Soups are good.  Also their breakfast wrap has a whole grain tortilla, and uses shredded cheese.  Burger King isn't that great, but the french toast sticks are unique to them.  Obviously Dunkin Donuts has excellent donuts, but a great blueberry muffin with a sugar coated top.  Delicious.

So in conclusion, McDonalds, you can still fuck off.

First off, I'd like to send a big FUCK YOU to papA johnS.  I will never eat your goddamn pizza again.  The only resolve that will work for me, close 3070 down.  Revoke the franchise.  Your brand has suffered enough.  Let the owner open at another location, cause I along with others will be Yelping the shit out of this and it will never go away.

How could pj hire such a person?  Isn't there some kinda screening involved?  Oh, wait, only dumb mother fuckers work at pizza joints.  Okay, then why allow a word like 'CHINK' be entered in the machine.  For those of you that don't believe that exists, what about your fucking autocorrect software in your dumb fucking phone?  Not using that feature or requiring that kinda software as a franchise guideline...is NEGLIGENCE.  If you know you have a bunch of idiots working for you, why give them the power to drown you?  Also STUPIDITY on pj's part.

So deactivated my facebook yesterday.  I just don't use it as much.  I kinda prefer twitter.  More random.  What you tweet doesn't really mean too much.  I kinda use it a lot to vent against current events.

One thing I have noticed, if it's gonna be on the news, it'll probably trend on twitter first.
