bOISEsTATE @ nevada 2010 the good and the bad of it

So bs lost to nevada in what was dubbed the most important game in nevada football program history. I would go even further and say in all of wac football history.

24 games. I believe it was 3 straight seasons boise st. went undefeated 'till running into the wolf pack (i didn't even know nevada's mascot 'till last night, which goes to show how big this win was for nevada and the wac...well maybe I did. But really was reminded. Jus making a point). Winning that many games for most other teams in other power conferences wouldve been considered utter dominance....but the wac isn't considered a power conference, but maybe now it will be a contending conference. There can never be only 1 team dominating, unless you schedule a hell of a non-conference schedule. Notre dame comes to mind for me. Though being independent, they play an outstanding non-conf schedule. So if they did go undefeated like boise st did, there would be no question or debate of their worthyness to play @ the biggest dance.

To boise st's credit, their non-conf schedule did get tougher, but not tough enough for critics. And the pouting continued for boise st fans. Enough so that everyone outside boise just wanted to see them lose. The biggest claim I heard is, why doesn't anyone of these big conf teams want to come and play on the blue field? Why should and would they. It'd be like umich wolverines travelling to appalacian st to play. I still don't understand how boise st could feel so entitled to play for the national championship. Strength of schedule broncos.

With this nevada victory, it gives the conference some level of credability. now we know boise can be beat within their conference. So if boise st goes undefeated again like they did (which they won't), they would get more support for their bids for the national championship game.

Well those are my thought on that for now. Its a little early for me so I'm going back to bed.

Peace
